Weekly Current Affairs (11th-15th August 2025)
1) National Sports Governance Act, 2025: Passed by both houses of Parliament. According to Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya National Sports Governance Bill, 2025 is the single biggest reform in Sports sector since Independence.
2) Revised Income-tax (No. 2) Bill, 2025: Introduced and passed in Lok Sabha on 11 August and Rajya Sabha on 12 August.
3) Khalistan Referendum: This set to be held on 17 August 2025 in Washington, D.C. This organized by pro-separatist groups abroad but this holds no legal standing in India.
4) Maratha royal sword: This belongs to belonging to Raghuji Bhonsle-I. This is scheduled to return to India after more than 200 years on 18 August.
